FOREST, Va. – The pairings for the 2017 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Men's & Women's Basketball Tournaments have been set as the 2016-17 regular season concluded Saturday evening. Both the Emory & Henry College Men's and Women's Teams received byes to the quarterfinals by virtue of finishing in the top four of the league's regular season standings.

The Emory & Henry Men (18-7, 12-4 ODAC) are seeded third and have a first-round bye for the first time since the tournament expanded to include all the league's team in the 2008-09 season. The Wasps finished in third place with their most wins both overall and in conference play since the 1992-93 season. E&H's current seven-game winning streak is the best since a seven-game stretch late in the 2003-04 campaign.

The Wasps will face off against the winner of #6 Roanoke-#11 Randolph on Thursday night at 8:00 p.m., at the Salem Civic Center. E&H defeated Randolph at home but fell to Roanoke on the road as the schedule only allowed one opportunity to see the squads during the year.

On the women's side, Emory & Henry put up an 18-7 record for the second year in a row and finished in a tie for third (12-4 ODAC) with their most league wins since 2004-05. The Wasps claimed the #3 seed via their season sweep of Eastern Mennonite University. E&H earns a first-round bye for the second year in a row as it was also seeded third in last year's tournament.

The Wasps will take on against the winner of #6 Virginia Wesleyan-#11 Shenandoah on Friday evening at 8:00 p.m., at the Salem Civic Center. Emory & Henry swept the Marlins including a 73-61 win on Saturday to close out the season. The Wasps also picked up a pair of wins over the Hornets during the year.
