ODAC Releases Pairings For 2019 Men's & Women's Basketball Tournaments

FOREST, Va. – The pairings for the 2019 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Men's & Women's Basketball Tournaments have been set as the 2018-19 regular season concluded Saturday night. The Emory & Henry College Women's Team has earned the #2 seed in the tournament by virtue of its second-place (15-3) finish during the regular season. The Men's Team is seeded seventh after putting together a 9-7 conference record.

The Emory & Henry Women (22-3, 15-3 ODAC) are one of the top three seeds for the fourth year in a row with their second seed this year. The Wasps have won 11 games in a row and 15 of their last 16. E&H is ranked No. 2 in the NCAA Division III South Region and has been ranked as high as No. 15 in the country by D3hoops.com during the season.

The Wasps will face off against the winner of #7 Roanoke-#10 Eastern Mennonite on Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. at the Salem Civic Center. E&H met both teams only once during the season but defeated EMU 81-53 on February 2 and RC by a 67-51 score on February 6.

On the men's side, seventh-seeded Emory & Henry posted a 16-9 (9-7 ODAC) record and had a six-game winning streak between January 12 and February 2. The Wasps were ranked No. 7 in the first NCAA Division III South Region rankings of the year. E&H playing a first round game in the ODAC Tournament for the first time since 2016 as it earned a bye during the last two seasons.

Emory & Henry will face #10 Eastern Mennonite at home on Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. The Wasps swept the season series with the Runnin' Royals, earning a 75-60 win on December 5 at home and an 85-75 road victory on February 2. Per ODAC policy, there will be a $5 admission for adults for Monday's game. Students (with ID) and children will be admitted free. There is no pass list for tournament games.
