Robert W. Gibson III Weight Room

The Robert W. Gibson III Weight Room is located in the John Rutledge King Center. The weight room boasts 5,000 square feet of workout space with the latest equipment available to help the Wasps train year-round. The weight room has 12 double-sided half racks, each equipped with over 2,000 pounds of weight. A variety of bars, nine sets of PowerBlock dumbbells, nine plyo boxes, six hardwood Olympic platforms, 12 pieces of cardiovascular equipment, and a full line of Life Fitness selectorized equipment round out the extensive offerings of the facility.

Strength & conditioning is a year-round emphasis for the intercollegiate athletes at Emory & Henry College. Student-athletes can expect even more, as all 12 stations are equipped with tablets and Teambuildr software which allow them to view their workout and record the lifts for the day.

Certified Strength & Conditioning Coach Noah Arni operates the Robert W. Gibson III Weight Room. He designs individualized programs that include a regimen of strength training, power development, speed enhancement, mobility, and endurance training. Student-athletes are assessed daily for mobility and strength limitations to provide safe and effective training.  Performance testing occurs at specific times throughout the year to gauge improvements and ensure the effectiveness of training programs. Arni and his staff guide the student-athletes through the programs daily and progress is continuously monitored. Engaged, educated, and nationally certified strength and conditioning coaches ensure the constant development and improvement of our student-athletes.
