GAME DAY POLICIES

The Athletic Communications Department oversees the operations of the press box and/or scorer's table at all Emory & Henry home events. A limited amount of space exists on press row and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Credential requests should be made as far in advance as possible.

Statistics

Statistics will be made available to members of the media at halftime and at the conclusion of each contest. Statistics may be provided at intervals during the contest upon request. The Athletic Communications Department will be happy to make arrangements prior to send box scores digitally.

Radio
All requests for broadcast radio and Internet radio broadcasts must be made through the Athletic Communications Department at least 72 hours in advance.

Video
E&H makes every effort possible to provide video broadcasts of all home events in the following sports: baseball, football, men's & women's basketball, men's & women's soccer, men's & women's swimming, volleyball and men's & women's wrestling. Softball broadcasts will be based on weather forecast. Scheduling conflicts sometimes arise during the fall and spring seasons with overlaps in game times. Broadcast resources on these days will be allocated in a manner that provides fans an equitable opportunity to support each team over the duration of the season.

Photography
All photographers interested in shooting at Emory & Henry home events must contact the sports information office at least 72 hours in advance in order to arrange for the proper credentials. Be advised that flash equipment may be necessary to capture quality photographs, and that game officials will have the final word as to whether such equipment will be allowed during play.

INTERVIEW POLICIES

Practices
Practices, as a general rule, are closed to the public. Coaches reserve the right to hold open practices. Players will be available for interviews after practice, but not before. Please call the Athletic Communications Department to verify practice times. Coaches will be available for interview by appointment only.

Game Day
All requests for coach and player interviews must be made through the Athletic Communications Department. Players and coaches will be available following a 10-minute "cooling-off" period after each home contest. For postgame interviews of visiting players and coaches, consult first with the visiting athletic communications personnel if they are in attendance. Every attempt will be made to make coach and player interviews available at the conclusion of each contest.

If there is electronic media present at a contest (i.e. radio or webcast), the E&H players and coaches will give those outlets first priority over print media due to the scheduling of airtime with other events or programs.

Contacting Coaches
All interviews with coaches shall be coordinated through the Athletic Communications Department. Please call or email the Athletic Communications Department at least 24 hours in advance of your intended interview to arrange an appropriate time to speak with coaches.

NATIONAL/REGIONAL RANKINGS & TOURNAMENT SEEDING

Many sports have multiple national polls released by reputable organizations, but it is the opinion of this Department that attempting to cross-promote multiple polls at once only causes unnecessary confusion. The selection process for polls being officially recognized is based on multiple criteria. The Athletic Communications Department reserves the right to change the officially-recognized national poll at any time, but will only switch recognition in the middle of a season in extreme circumstances.

Any national ranking appearing on a schedule or press release on www.GoWasps.com reflects a team's national ranking from the most recent poll. These rankings are denoted with the abbreviation "No." and an Arabic numeral (ex. No. 19 Emory & Henry Men's Basketball).

Seeding for conference tournaments is received based on regular-season competition, and if necessary, a tiebreaker procedure. Seeds are only used during the run of tournament play, but do appear on schedules and press releases. These seeds are denoted with the pound (or hash) symbol "#" and an Arabic numeral (ex. #3 Emory & Henry Softball).

Additionally, the NCAA publishes Regional Rankings during the latter half of the regular season for team sports. These rankings, combined with automatic qualification, are the official means of selecting and pairing participants for NCAA postseason tournaments. Football uses a process known as "earned access" in NCAA Division II which is solely based on regional rankings with no automatic qualification awarded. The sports of cross country, track & field, golf, and swimming - which are of a more individual nature - have a different set of rankings based on top times, best marks, time standards and head-to-head individual competition. The selection of individuals for NCAA postseason play differs in these sports, however these rankings and time standards play a large role in this process. Wrestling qualifications are also different as they are based solely on where an individual wrestler places at the regional championship.

The Emory & Henry College Athletic Communications Department officially recognizes the following national polls:

Men's Basketball   NABC (National Association of Basketball Coaches)
