Guidelines.
- To ensure the safety of the student-athlete
- To ensure the development of the student-athlete as a whole
- To ensure that qualified coaches are in place
- To ensure staff development
- To ensure that the facility and its equipment are installed and maintained correctly
- To ensure that in the event of an emergency proper action is taken
- To ensure the promotion and advancement of strength and conditioning
- To ensure the promotion and advancement of the student-athletes
- Alignment with the NSCA’s Code
of Ethics.
- To ensure that all strength and conditioning staff respect the right, welfare, and dignity of others
- To ensure that all strength and conditioning staff comply with all applicable state, local, and federal laws
- To ensure that all strength and conditioning staff maintain and promote high standards
- Compliance with all National
Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) standards and bylaws.
- To ensure that competitive athletics remains a vital part of the educational program
- To ensure that the student-athlete remains an integral part of the student-body
- To ensure a clear distinction is maintained between professional and intercollegiate athletics
- A sense of
responsibility as it relates the overall wellbeing of the
department of athletics.
- To ensure the development of good sportsmanship both in the athletic ring and in the future
- To ensure the equivalent development of both male and female student-athletes
- To ensure the equivalent development of both men’s and women’s athletic programs
- To build unity throughout the athletic program, university, conference, and the NCAA
- To ensure coaches, who, along with their student-athletes, strive for a high level of success

the importance of living of healthy lifestyle.
- To ensure lifelong participation exercise and/or sport
- To ensure adherence to healthy and balanced eating habits
- To ensure resistance to poor lifestyle choices such as drugs and alcohol
- The characteristics
of a caring, compassionate, and team oriented person.
- To ensure good moral and ethical development
- To develop good sportsmanship
- To develop a sense community both on campus and in the future
- To develop strong and healthy lines of communication with teammates, coaches, professors, and in future relationships
- An improved capacity
for exertion.
- To help reduce the incidence of injury both during competitive sports and after it is over
- To ensure that proper movement mechanics are applied as it relates to both fundamental and specialized motor skills
