Emory & Henry’s Bransen Christopher Named To All-ODAC Baseball Second Team

FOREST, Va. - Emory & Henry College senior first baseman Bransen Christopher (Hickory, N.C.) has been named to the 2015 All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference Baseball Second Team, ODAC officials announced Thursday. It is the first time since the 2013 season that the Wasps have been represented on the all-league squads.

The Hickory High School graduate led the team in many offensive categories this season as he picked up All-ODAC honors for the first time in his career. He was first in batting average (.356), at bats (132), hits (47), runs (32) and doubles (13). He also notched 23 RBI, three home runs and three stolen bases with an on-base percentage of .395 and a slugging average of .523.

He led the ODAC in doubles and sacrifice flies (four), was third in total bases (69), fourth in at bats, hits and runs, eighth in home runs and 11th in RBI. Christopher also posted a strong performance with the glove, boasting a .984 fielding percentage and assisting on 28 double plays.

Christopher finished his career with a .341 batting average, 157 hits, 31 doubles, 11 home runs, 83 runs scored and 75 RBI. He posted an on-base percentage of .380 and slugged .498 during his four years as a Wasp.

Emory & Henry finished the 2015 season with a 7-27 record and a 3-17 mark in league play.
