Emory & Henry’s Brandon Lineberry Named D3baseball.com All-South Region

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Emory & Henry College senior right fielder Brandon Lineberry has been selected to the 2016 D3baseball.com All-South Region Second Team, D3baseball.com officials announced Monday. Voted on by the Sports Information Directors across the South Region of NCAA Division III, Lineberry is the first E&H player to receive all-region honors in the five year history of the award.

The Hillsville, Virginia native was tabbed to the All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference First Team after leading the Wasps in every offensive category including batting average (.344), at bats (154), hits (53), runs (34), doubles (19), home runs (10), RBI (41), walks (19), on-base percentage (.418) and slugging (.662). Lineberry finishes his career as the season-leader in doubles (19), second in home runs in a season (10) and third in career home runs (19). He had a 17-game hitting streak between March 16 and April 16 which ranks third on the all-time list.

This is the second year in a row that Lineberry has been named All-Region. In 2015, he was acknowledged by the ABCA as a Division III All-South Region Second Teamer.

E&H has seen one of its players named to an all-region team in four out of the last five seasons. Centerfielder Eric Houff was selected to the All-South Region Second Team in 2013 while second baseman Josh McMillian was a first-team all-region selection after the 2012 campaign.
