MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Emory & Henry College Baseball Team (7-11) earned a win in game two to salvage a doubleheader split with Albertus Magnus College (1-3) Tuesday afternoon in its first two games at The Ripken Experience. The Falcons won game one by a 4-3 score in eight innings while the Wasps salvaged the split by a 12-6 score in the nightcap.

Game One
- The first four innings of the game were a pitcher's duel with a total of four hits between the two teams.
- Emory & Henry broke the trend and put runs on the board in the bottom of the fifth. Back-to-back no-out set things in motion and a sacrifice fly and RBI single by junior first baseman Daniel Huff (Rougemont, N.C.) and junior centerfielder Josh Macek (Concord, N.C.) drove in the two runs in order.
- AMC answered with three in the sixth to take a 3-2 lead. Andrew Scully led things off with a home run to center field to highlight the frame.
- In the bottom of the seventh, the Wasps tied the game at three runs apiece on an inside-the-park home run by Macek.
- The Falcons got what would prove to be the winning run in the top of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, Roberto Garcia hit a ground ball to shortstop to plate a run.
- Emory & Henry did get a runner in scoring position in the bottom of the frame but was unable to push him across.
- Shawn McFeggan earned the win for Albertus Magnus, allowing just three runs on seven hits with four strikeouts in seven innings of work. Tom Moore picked up the save.
- Freshman Ethan Cave (Jonesville, Va.) suffered the loss, allowing one run on two hits in two innings pitched. Senior Nick Lesnak (Blountville, Tenn.) allowed just one earned run on seven hits with five strikeouts in six innings.

Game Two
- Emory & Henry put a pair of runs on the board in the top of the first on a double to right centerfield by freshman catcher Caleb Wallace (Mocksville, N.C.).
- After AMC cut the margin to 2-1 in the bottom half of the inning, the Wasps made their lead 3-1 on a solo home run to right field by freshman designated hitter Chandler Kezele (Marshall, Va.).
- The Falcons' trip to the plate in the second netted two runs to tie the game, 3-all, highlighted by a double to left centerfield by Tyriq Harris.
- Emory & Henry scored three in the third to take a 6-3 advantage and after a run by Albertus Magnus in the bottom of the third, added four runs in the fifth for a 10-4 margin. Junior left fielder Zach Smith (Powder Springs, Ga.) drove in two with a triple to centerfield.
- Both teams added two runs in the latter part of the game to make the final score 12-6.
- Junior Jacob Collins (Wytheville, Va.) earned the win in relief, allowing two runs on five hits in three innings of work.
- AMC's Jay Palais took the loss, as six runs scored on nine hits in his three innings on the hill.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Sophomore shortstop Ross French (Bridgewater, Va.) went three-for-five with a run and a RBI while senior second baseman Hunter Jeffries (Hickory, N.C.) had three hits in game two with a run scored.
- Smith and Kezele both had two runs on two hits while smith drove in a pair and Kezele had a home run.
- Macek plated two on the day with two hits and a run scored on his inside-the-park home run.

Albertus Magnus Individual Leaders
- Harris finished the day with four hits and two runs while Roberto Garcia and Tom Crocco each had three hits. Garcia added three runs and a RBI.
- Scully and Brandon Clark put up a pair of hits and scored a run with Scully's run coming on his home run.
- Hunter Dumas added two hits and walked twice on the afternoon.

Up Next
- Emory & Henry will remain in Myrtle Beach on Wednesday when it faces off against Alfred State College in a pair of seven-inning games. First pitch is slated for 9:00 a.m.
- The Wasps won all four games in a weekend series with the Pioneers over March 4-5 in Emory.
