FOREST, Va. - Emory & Henry College Ben Sexton has been selected as the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week, ODAC officials announced Monday afternoon. It is the first time since the 2014 season that a Wasp has earned weekly league honors, and the first time since 2012 that the award has gone to a position player.

The junior outfielder from Lebanon, Virginia led the Emory & Henry to a 3-0 last week, going 7-for-10 at the plate with four extra-base hits, seven RBI, four runs and three stolen bases.

Sexton kicked off the week with a 4-for-4 outing with two doubles and two runs at Ferrum College on Wednesday and finished things off with a 3-for-4 performance including the game-winning three-run home run in game two against Southern Virginia Saturday. He currently ranks third in the league with a .500 batting average and is also third in slugging at .818.

Emory & Henry (6-1) will put its six-game winning streak to the test on Wednesday when it hosts Bluefield College at 2:00 p.m. It will be the first time since the 2014 season that the Wasps and Rams have met on the diamond.
