LYNCHBURG, Va. – Two players from the Emory & Henry College Baseball Team have received All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference honors, ODAC officials announced Friday. The announcement comes in conjunction with the start of the final four round of the 2018 ODAC Baseball Tournament at City Stadium in Lynchburg.

Senior shortstop Holden Watkins (Ridgeway, Va.) and junior right fielder Ben Sexton (Lebanon, Va.) were both named to the all-league third team. The duo earns All-ODAC honors for the second time as Watkins was a third-team pick in 2016 and Sexton in 2017.

Watkins returned for his senior season after missing 2017 with a knee injury. He hit .353 on the year with 41 hits, 24 runs, 13 RBI, 10 doubles, six stolen bases and two home runs. He boasted a .402 on-base percentage and a team-leading .526 slugging average. Watkins put up a 14-game hitting streak between March 3 and April 6, equaling his career best from the last half of the 2016 campaign. He had 13 multi-hit games and posted a 10-for-19 (.526) over a four-game stretch in late March.

Sexton batted. 375 with a .405 on-base percentage and a .458 slugging percentage. He notched a team-best 45 hits and nine stolen bases while driving in 23 runs and scoring 21 times. He stroked seven doubles and had one home run. He tallied a base hit in 24 of the games in which he played and had an eight-game hitting streak between March 3 and March 25. Sexton notched 13 multi-hit games, including a 4-for-4 day at Greensboro College (Apr. 9) and a 4-for-5 outing with four runs scored and two RBI at Eastern Mennonite University (Mar. 25).

Sean Guida of Roanoke College was named the ODAC Player of the Year while Randolph-Macon College's Colin Selby was selected as the ODAC Pitcher of the Year. Roanoke's Will Salva was ODAC Rookie of the Year and R-MC mentor Ray Hedrick earned Coach of the Year honors. Damon Frazier of Eastern Mennonite University was selected by the league's sports information directors as the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Scholar-Athlete.
