How It Happened
The Quakers got on the board in the bottom of the first with two runs after a pair of errors by the E&H defense. Guilford extended its lead to 3-0 in the seventh on a single to centerfield by Austin Bailey.

Emory & Henry put together its offense late led off by senior left fielder Logan Forster's (Christiansburg, Va.) single up the middle which plated junior designated hitter Chandler Kezele (Marshall, Va.). The Wasps drew the margin to 3-2 on a solo home run by senior right fielder Ben Sexton (Lebanon, Va.) in the top of the ninth but would get no closer as the Quakers escaped with the win.

Ty Walser earned the victory for GC, pitching five innings of shutout baseball with five hits and four strikeouts. Mitchell Stumpo picked up a four-inning save despite allowing two run on six hits with four strikeouts of his own. E&H sophomore Noah Griffin (Fort Mill, S.C.) allowed just one earned run in 6.1 innings on five hits but was settled with the loss.
