Emory & Henry Baseball Releases 2020 Season Schedule

EMORY, Va. – Emory & Henry College Head Baseball Coach Trey McCall has announced the team's schedule for the 2020 season. This year, the Wasps will play 20 of their 40 scheduled games at home.

Emory & Henry again gets the season started at Berry College on the weekend of February 8-9 with a three-game series against the Vikings. The next weekend, the Wasps return to Lookout Mountain, Georgia to take on Covenant College on Friday, February 14 and Saturday, February 15.

A three-game series against the Berea College opens the home portion of the schedule. The Wasps will play a pair of seven-inning games on Saturday (Feb. 22) and a single game on Sunday (Feb. 22).

After a mid-week trip to face Johnson University on Wednesday, February 26, the Wasps will return home for a three-game SUNY Fredonia (Sat., Feb. 29-Sun., Mar. 1)

Emory & Henry travels to Maryville (Tenn.) College on Wednesday, March 4 before opening Old Dominion Athletic Conference play at Shenandoah University on Saturday, March 7. A non-conference trip to Brevard College (Wed., Mar. 11) is the final contest before the heart of ODAC play takes shape.

The Wasps host Randolph-Macon College (Sat., Mar. 14) and Johnson (Tue., Mar. 18) before traveling to Ferrum College on Wednesday, March 18.

A home series with Virginia Wesleyan University is set for Saturday, March 21 before the Wasps visit Roanoke College (Tue., Mar. 24) and host Maryville on Wednesday, March 25.

Emory & Henry will travel to face University of Lynchburg on Saturday, March 28 before playing six of its next eight games at Porterfield-DeVault Field. A midweek contest against Guilford College (Wed., Apr. 1) gives way to a doubleheader against Hampden-Sydney College (Sat., Apr. 4) and the series closer with Roanoke (Tue., Apr. 7) for the first four games.

After visiting Eastern Mennonite University on Saturday, April 11 the Wasps welcome Ferrum and Brevard to Southwest Virginia on Wednesday, April 15 and Thursday, April 16, respectively.

Trips to Washington and Lee University on Saturday, April 18 and Guilford on Tuesday, April 21 sets up the final home series of the year against Bridgewater College on Saturday, April 25.

The tournament will remain the same as in 2019 with eight teams reaching the postseason. The weekend of Friday, May 1-Sunday, May 3 will see a three-game series at the top four seeds with a four-team tournament following on the weekend of Friday, May 8 through Sunday, May 10 at Salem Memorial Ballpark in Salem, Virginia.
