EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Cheer & Dance Teams will host virtual spring tryouts for prospective student-athletes from the comfort of their own home.
Prospective cheerleaders and dancers must submit ALL online requirements by Friday, May 15, 2020.
Participants in the virtual cheerleading auditions are asked to submit a video of themselves demonstrating the motions to the Emory & Henry Fight Song, as well as providing examples of their abilities related to chants, stunts, tumbling and jumps.
Those wishing to audition for the dance team will submit video examples of themselves performing the routine for the Emory & Henry Fight Song and one other additional song. Participants are also encouraged to share a video of their abilities in chants and tumbling.
"This is a challenging situation for all student-athletes interested in the Cheer & Dance teams as I know they will have limitations regarding questions about technique or styles of dance," said Sara Hansen, head cheer & dance coach. "This will be a new experience for us all, and we have example videos for all participants to watch before recording their videos that will help them learn the routines."
All individuals must complete their application to Emory & Henry College and fill out a contact form.
