Intermont Equestrian Wins Appalachian State IDA Show On Sunday

BOONE, N.C. –Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College competed in an IDA show at Appalachian State University on Sunday. The "A" Team finished first out of nine teams with 15 points while the "B" Team from Emory & Henry was fourth with 10 points.

Virginia Tech was the show's Reserve Champion with 14 points, winning the tiebreaker with Appalachian State, which finished third. Wake Forest University's A Team was fifth while the University of Virginia and WFU's B Team were sixth and seventh, respectively.

In the first level, sophomore Nick Martino (Bel Air, Md.) finished second with a 68.0 percentage. Sophomore Amanda Snow (Bradford, Me.) was fourth overall in the First Level, on 64.8%.

In the Upper Training level, junior Emma Baltuskonis (San Antonio, Texas) took third place with a score of 68.0%. Junior Bailey Halverson (Concord, N.C.) was fourth with her 66.4% performance.

The Lower Training level was paced by senior Morgan Sollenberger (Conford, N.C.), took "high-point rider of the day" honors in just her second time in the ring with a 74%. Junior Karissa Donohue (Benson, N.C.) was third scoring a 71%.

In the Introductory level, senior Samantha Chambers (Chesterfield, Va.) finished fifth with a 64.7% while junior Florence Parsley (Ruskin, Fla.) was sixth on 60.9%.

The Intermont Equestrian IDA team will conclude the fall portion of its schedule when it hosts a show at the Riding Center at Exit 10 on Saturday, November 22.
