Intermont Equestrian Finishes Ninth At Bridgewater IHSA Show

WEYERS CAVE, Va. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College ISHA Team competed this past weekend in an Intercollegiate Horse Show Association event at Bridgewater College. The Wasps finished ninth out of 13 teams in the field, drawing several tough horses at the start of the day.

Senior Morgan Sollenberger (Concord, N.C.) earned reserve high-point rider of the day honors for a second show in a row after finished first in both of her events in the Novice Class.

In the Open Division, junior Emily McBee (Cartersville, Ga.) gave great rides to two very forward going horses. Sophomore Shelby Easterwood (Shreveport, La.) showed great improvement as well as poise on a talented but difficult mare in the Intermediate Over Fences while sophomore Nick Martino (Bel Air, Md.) had good rides in the Intermediate On The Flat as well as Novice Over Fences. Both riders earned compliments from several other coaches in attendance.

Senior Caitlin Coston (Elwood, Ind.) was solid in the Walk-Trot Class and junior Karissa Donohue (Benson, N.C.) was second in the Walk-Trot-Canter Class on a kind, but tricky horse.

Emory & Henry will spend the next two weeks in preparation of its next IHSA show which will take place on the campus of Sweet Briar College on Saturday, November 15.
