Intermont Equestrian Dressage Team Wins Home Show Saturday

BRISTOL, Va. – Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College hosted its first Intercollegiate Dressage Association show on Saturday at the E&H Equestrian Center. The Wasps' "A" Team won the show with 21 points while Virginia Tech was second and the Emory & Henry "B" Team took third.

E&H A Team riders swept the day, taking the top spot at all four levels. Junior Bailey Halverson (Concord, N.C.) earned "high-point rider of the day" honors, scoring a 75.6% in the Upper Training Level.

Sophomore Nick Martino (Bel Air, Md.) won the First Level with a score of 71.4% while sophomore Amanda Snow (Bradford, Me.) was fourth with a 67.1%.

In addition to Halverson's win in the Upper Training level, junior Emma Baltuskonis (San Antonio, Texas) was fifth, scoring a 70.2%.

Emory & Henry went 1-2 in the Lower Training Level. Senior Morgan Sollenberger (Concord, N.C.) took the top spot with a score of 72.1% while junior Karissa Donohue (Benson, N.C.) was second with a 67.5%.

Senior Samantha Chambers (Chesterfield, Va.) completed the sweep for the Wasps with a 70.0% performance in the Introductory Level. Junior Florence Parsley (Ruskin, Fla.) was sixth in the level, scoring a 64.7%.

Virginia Tech's Megan Gildea took home "reserve high-point rider of the day" accolades, scoring a 74.9% in the Upper Training Level.

The Intermont Equestrian IDA Team has completed the fall portion of it schedule and will next compete on Sunday, February 1 when it hosts its second of three shows at the E&H Equestrian Center.
