Intermont Equestrian Takes Third and Fourth Place At Virginia Tech Sunday

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IDA team had its first show of the 2015-16 season at Flanagan Stables, hosted by Virginia Tech. The Wasps showed two different teams which finished third and fourth out of nine teams competing.

Team B, which finished third overall, was led by senior Bailey Halverson's (Concord, N.C.) first-place ride in the First Level (74.1%). Junior Sierra Davenport (Chilhowie, Va.) was fourth in the Introductory Level (64.1%), while sophomore Eli Worth-Jones (Abingdon, Va.) took fifth (64.6%) in the Lower Training Level. Senior Morgan Sollenberger (Concord, N.C.) was sixth (68.3%) in the Upper Training Level.

Leading Team A to the fourth-place finish was junior Nick Martino (Bel Air, Md.) who was third in First Level (69.4%). Senior Karissa Donohue (Benson, N.C.) was third (72.9%) in the Upper Training Level while junior Taylor Carroll (Garner, N.C.) claimed third (66.3%) in the Introductory Level. Senior Megan Wilson-Bost (Glouster, Va.) was sixth in the Lower Training Level (62.0%).

Virginia Tech's Team B won the overall competition with 12 points, Virginia Tech's Team A was named the reserve champion while Emory & Henry's B Team was third. The three-way tie was broken by on team scoring average (70.9%, 70.2%, 67.6%).

Emory & Henry will have its next IDA show on Saturday, October 3 when it travels to Wake Forest University.
