Intermont Equestrian IDA Team Wins At Appalachian State Sunday

BOONE, N.C. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IDA Team picked up its first win of the season on the campus of Appalachian State University Sunday. The Wasps' A Team finished first out of eight teams competing while the E&H B Team was fourth.

In First Level competition, junior Nick Martino (Bel Air, Md.) won the level for E&H A with a score of 75.4%. Senior Bailey Halverson (Concord, N.C.) was second in the level while junior Mandy Snow (Bradford, Me.) finished fourth, competing as an individual.

Senior Karissa Donohue (Benson, N.C.) showed for the Wasps' A Team in the Upper Training Level, scoring a 73.1% to finish first. Senior Morgan Sollenberger (Concord, N.C.) was third in the level.

The Wasps had three riders in the Lower Training Level, led by sophomore Eli Worth-Jones (Abingdon, Va.) who scored a 75.0% to win the level. Freshman Delaney Oursler (Hickory, N.C.) was sixth as an individual in her first collegiate competition while senior Megan Wilson-Bost (Glouster, Va.) posted an eighth-place finish.

The Introductory Level saw E&H's A Team complete the clean sweep as junior Taylor Carroll (Garner, N.C.) scored a 73.4% to finish first. Junior Sierra Davenport (Chilhowie, Va.) was seventh in the division.

Emory & Henry A won the day with a perfect 21 point score while Wake Forest University's A Team was the Reserve Champion on 12 points.

Martino claimed High-Point Rider of the Day honors with his score of 75.4% while Worth-Jones was named the Reserve High-Point Rider of the Day on his 75% score.

E&H will have its next IDA show on Sunday, November 15 when it travels to Wake Forest University. The show was rescheduled from its original date on Saturday, October 3 due to bad weather.
