Intermont Equestrian IDA Team Wins At Wake Forest Sunday

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IDA Team made it back-to-back victories Sunday afternoon at Wake Forest University. The Wasps, who recorded a perfect score for the second show in a row.

The show was originally scheduled for Saturday, October 3, but was postponed due to the heavy rains which fell on the first week of October.

Emory & Henry only showed one team this weekend, due to the lack of availability of horses, topping the field of six squads.

In the First Level, junior Nick Martino (Bel Air, Md.) claimed third place. Senior Karissa Donohue (Benson, N.C.) was first in the Upper Training level while senior Morgan Sollenberger (Concord, N.C.) finished fifth as the Wasps' only individual rider.

Sophomore Eli Worth-Jones (Abingdon, Va.) was second in the Lower Training Level while junior Taylor Carroll (Garner, N.C.) was also second in the Introductory Level.

Donohue added High-Point Rider of the Day honors to her list of accolades, earning the best score of all competitors.

Emory & Henry will close out the fall portion of the dressage season next Saturday when it hosts a show at the Emory & Henry College Equestrian Center off of Exit 10 in Bristol.
