Intermont Equestrian IDA Team Takes Top Two Spots In Home Show Saturday

BRISTOL, Va. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IDA Team claimed first and second place at its home show Saturday at the Emory & Henry Equestrian Center. The Wasps' B Team finished first out of 11 participating teams while the E&H A Team earned reserve champion honors. In addition to the two teams put forth by Emory & Henry, four Wasps rode as individuals in the show.

In the First Level, Team B senior Bailey Halverson (Concord, N.C.) won with a score of 68.75% while junior Nick Martino (Bel Air, Md.) was second on 68.59% for Team A. Junior Mandy Snow (Bradford, Me.) was third as an individual (68.13%) while senior Emma Baltuskonis (San Antonio, Texas) finished seventh in the class (63.44%).

Senior Morgan Sollenberger (Concord, N.C.) claimed the top spot for the B Team (74.43%) in the Upper Training Level with senior Karissa Donohue (Benson, N.C.) coming in second (73.27%) for Team A. Sollenberger also earned Reserve High-Point Rider of the Day honors for her ride.

In the Lower Training Level, freshman Delaney Oursler (Hickory, N.C.) won the class as an individual, scoring a 72.39% while senior Megan Wilson-Bost (Glouster, Va.) came in second for Team B with a 70.65%. Sophomore Eli Worth-Jones (Abingdon, Va.) took third in the level on 70.44% for the Wasps' A Team.

Riding as an individual in the Introductory Level, junior Hannah Phillips (Virginia Beach, Va.) was second (72.50%) while junior Taylor Carroll (Garner, N.C.) was third for the A Team (69.38%). Sierra Davenport (Chilhowie, Va.) posted a fourth-place ride with a score of 69.02%, riding for E&H Team B.

Sara Garrett of Virginia Tech was named High-Point Rider of the Day after winning the Introductory Level with a score of 75.3%.

Emory & Henry has now completed its IDA schedule for the fall semester. The Wasps will be back in action on Saturday, January 30 when they travel to Bridgewater College for the spring season opener.
