Intermont Equestrian Opens 2016-17 Season Saturday In Tournament Of Champions At Goucher

BALTIMORE, Md. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IHSA Team got the season off to a start on Saturday morning at the first of four Tournament of Champions Series events. Goucher College served at the show's host.

The Basics

The Results
- Sophomore Francisco Caba-Guil (Almería, SPAIN) competed in Open Equitation Over Fences while senior Nick Martino (Bel Air, Md.) rode in Open on the Flat and Intermediate Over Fences.
- Freshman Katie Maharis (Howard Beach, N.Y.) was third in Intermediate Equitation on the Flat.
- Senior Odessa Thacker (Yorktown, Va.) took fourth in the Novice Over Fences division while freshman Bobbie Jo Adsit (Montpelier, Va.) was the Reserve Champion for Novice on the Flat.
- Senior Victoria Lustig (Galisteo, N.M.) took sixth in Walk/Trot/Canter Equitation and senior Ana-Belen Gomez (Irving Texas) finished fifth.
- Sydney Casady (Harriman, Tenn.) showed in the Medal competition.
- In the Novice Medal event, freshman Maddie Bonner (Powhatan, Va.) took Reserve Champion honors while junior Billie Henard (Kingport, Tenn.) was sixth.
- Randolph College was named the show's Champion while the spot of Reserve Champion went to Savannah College of Art & Design's Gold Team.

Next Up
- The Intermont Equestrian IHSA Team will be back in action next Saturday when it visits Averett University.
- The second show in the 2016-17 Tournament of Champions Series will be on Saturday, December 3 at Stone Gate Farm in Coolville, Ohio. The University of Ohio will serve as host.
