Intermont Equestrian Finishes Fourth At Tournament Of Champions Winter Classic I Saturday

BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IHSA Team competed in the third of four Tournament of Champions Series shows on Saturday. The Wasps finished fourth in the competition, earning three wins and three reserve champion finishes. Bridgewater College served as the show's host.

The Results
- Sophomore Francisco Caba-Guil (Almería, SPAIN) was the reserve champion in Open Equitation Over Fences while senior Nick Martino (Bel Air, Md.) took fifth in Open on the Flat.
- Junior Billie Henard (Kingsport, Tenn.) gave the Wasps a win in Intermediate on the Flat while freshman Maddie Bonner (Powhatan, Va.) competed in Intermediate Over Fences.
- Freshman Bobbie Jo Adsit (Montpelier, Va.) took second in both Novice Equitation Over Fences and Novice Flat.
- Freshman Catherine Hill (Roanoke, Va.) competed in the Walk/Trot/Canter division while freshman Kelsey Bergman (Christiansburg, Va.) won the Walk/Trot class.
- In High Medal competition, Martino was first while freshman Katie Maharis (Howard Beach, Queens, N.Y.) was fifth in Low Medals. Junior Sydney Casady (Harriman, Tenn.) and freshman Emily Trice (Gainesville, Ga.) also showed in the medal competition.
- The University of Findlay was the team champion with 37 points. Savannah College of Art & Design took Reserve Champion honors (32 points) after winning the tiebreaker with host Bridgewater. E&H took fourth on 31 points.

- The Intermont Equestrian IHSA Team will be back in action next Saturday when it hosts the fourth and final Tournament of Champions Series show at the Emory & Henry College Equestrian Center.
