Intermont Equestrian IHSA Team Wins Four Individual Championships At Regionals Saturday

PROVIDENCE, N.C. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IHSA Team competed at the Zone 4 – Region 5 Championship on Saturday, hosted by Averett University. The Wasps earned four championships and a reserve championship to qualify five riders for the Zone 4 Championship in April.

The Results
- Senior Nick Martino (Bel Air, Md.) won at Open Equitation on the Flat and was third Over Fences. Sophomore Francisco Caba-Guil (Almería, SPAIN) was fourth in Open Over Fences.
- Junior Billie Henard (Kingsport, Tenn.) took the championship in Novice Over Fences while freshman Bobbie Jo Adsit (Montpelier, Va.) won Novice on the Flat.
- Junior Eli Worth-Jones (Abingdon, Va.) was second in Walk/Trot/Canter Equitation and sophomore Taylor McMichael (Lexington, Va.) won at Walk/Trot Equitation.
- All riders who finished first or second in their respective events have qualified for the Zone 4 Championship.

Next Up
- In addition to the five riders who have qualified as individuals for the Zone 4 Championship, Emory & Henry, by virtue of their season Regional Championship, will compete as a team at Zones for a chance to go to the IHSA National Finals as a team.
- The Zone 4 Championship will be on Saturday, April 8 at St. Andrews University in Laurinburg, North Carolina.
