Intermont Equestrian IHSA Team Wins At Wake Forest Saturday

Intermont Equestrian finished first out of 12 teams Saturday at Wake Forest.

PROVIDENCE, N.C. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IHSA Team picked up seven event wins en route to a team victory on Saturday at Wake Forest University.

The Basics
TEAM PLACE – 1st/12
LOCATION – Pfafftown, North Carolina; Hidden K Stables

The Results
- Junior Francisco Caba-Guil (Almería, SPAIN) won at Open Equitation Over Fences and was second at Open on the Flat.
- Senior Billie Henard (Kingsport, Tenn.) was first in Open Flat and took second in Intermediate Over Fences.
- Sophomore Bobbie Jo Adsit (Montpelier, Va.) was first in Intermediate Equitation on the Flat and was second in Novice Fences. Senior Jane Mikusa (Crystal Lake, Ill.) took third in her Novice Over Fences ride.
- In Novice on the Flat, sophomore Maddie Bonner (Powhatan, Va.) finished second.
- Sophomore Catherine Hill (Roanoke, Va.) won at Advanced Walk/Trot/Canter while freshman Zachary Will (Nanjemoy, Md.) was first at Beginner Walk/Trot/Canter. Sophomore Virginia Jahoda (Waynesboro, Va.) closed out the day with a first-place ride in Walk/Trot Equitation.

The Awards
- In addition to the team victory, the Wasps swept the individual awards.
- Adsit was named High-Point Rider of the Day while Caba-Guil took Reserve High-Point Rider of the Day honors.

Next Up
- The Intermont Equestrian IHSA Team will be back in action next Saturday at Virginia Tech.
