Intermont Equestrian IHSA Team Makes It Two-Straight Wins With Victory At Virginia Tech Saturday

BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IHSA Team made it back-to-back victories with a team championship at Virginia Tech on Saturday. The Wasps picked up eight first-place finishes and four seconds in their 13 rides.

The Basics
TEAM PLACE – 1st/12
LOCATION – Blacksburg, Virginia; Alphin-Stuart Livestock Arena

The Results
- Junior Francisco Caba-Guil (Almería, SPAIN) won at Open Equitation Over Fences and was second at Open on the Flat.
- Senior Billie Henard (Kingsport, Tenn.) was fifth in Open Flat while senior Sydney Casady (Harriman, Tenn.) was second in Open Fences.
- Sophomore Bobbie Jo Adsit (Montpelier, Va.) won both her Intermediate Flat and Intermediate Fences classes.
- Sophomore Madison McKinsey (Waynesboro, Va.) also won at Intermediate Over Fences while senior Jane Mikusa (Crystal Lake, Ill.) won at Intermediate on the Flat and Novice Over Fences.
- Freshman Allison Dayley (Ruther Glen, Va.) picked up a pair of wins in Novice Fences and Flat competition.
- Sophomore Catherine Hill (Roanoke, Va.) was second at Advanced Walk/Trot/Canter and sophomore Virginia Jahoda (Waynesboro, Va.) closed out the day with a second-place ride at Walk/Trot.

The Awards
- In addition to their second-straight team victory, the Wasps made it back-to-back sweeps of the team awards
- Adsit was named High-Point Rider of the Day for the second-straight show while Dayley was the Reserve High-Point Rider of the Day.

Next Up
- The Intermont Equestrian IHSA Team will compete in the annual High Point University doubleheader next weekend with shows on Saturday (Oct. 21) and Sunday (Oct. 22).
