Intermont Equestrian IHSA Team Competes Twice At High Point Over The Weekend

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IHSA Team competed in back-to-back shows on Saturday and Sunday at High Point University. The Wasps were seventh on Saturday and picked up their third win in the last four shows.

The Basics
SATURDAY TEAM PLACE – 7th/12
SUNDAY TEAM PLACE – 1st/12
LOCATION – High Point, North Carolina; Fox Run Farm

Saturday Results
- Junior Francisco Caba-Guil (Almería, SPAIN) took second at Open Equitation Over Fences and was fourth at Open on the Flat.
- Senior Billie Henard (Kingsport, Tenn.) finished first at Intermediate Over Fences and was second in Open Flat while senior Sydney Casady (Harriman, Tenn.) was fourth in Open Fences.
- Sophomore Bobbie Jo Adsit (Montpelier, Va.) placed fourth in Intermediate on the Flat and was fifth Over Fences as sophomore Kira Boerst (Seymour, Wis.) finished third in Intermediate Flat.
- Senior Eli Worth-Jones (Abingdon, Va.) won at both Novice Equitation Over Fences and on the Flat while sophomore Mya Lizzadro (Naperville, Ill.) was first in Novice Fences and senior Jane Mikusa (Crystal Lake, Ill.) was fifth.
- In Novice on the Flat, sophomore Maddie Bonner (Powhatan, Va.) and sophomore Emily Trice (Gainesville, Ga.) posted wins, while junior Michaela Glenn (Kingsport, Tenn.) was third.
- Sophomore Cara Brooks (Suwanee, Ga.) was second in Walk/Trot/Canter Equitation while sophomore Catherine Hill (Roanoke, Va.) was fifth.
- Sophomore Virginia Jahoda (Waynesboro, Va.) won at Walk/Trot to round out the day for the Wasps.

Saturday Awards
- The Wasps made it three shows in a row sweeping the individual awards.
- Worth-Jones was named High-Point Rider of the Day while Henard took Reserve High-Point Rider of the Day honors.

Sunday Results
- Caba-Guil won his class in Open Over Fences, finishing fourth on the Flat. Casady was second Over Fences.
- Henard took second in Open Flat and was third in Intermediate Over Fences while Adsit won at Intermediate Fences and was second on the Flat. Boerst won her class in Intermediate Flat.
- Mikusa and Worth-Jones won with their rides in Novice Over Fences while Trice took third.
- In Novice Equitation on the Flat, Glenn notched a first-place finish while Bonner and Trice were second. Sophomore Carley Gunnell (Purcellville, Va.) placed third for E&H in Novice Flat.
- Hill won her ride in Advanced Walk/Trot/Canter while Brooks was fifth. Freshman Zachary Will (Nanjemoy, Md.) was first in Beginner Walk/Trot/Canter while Jahoda won in Walk/Trot Equitation.

Sunday Awards
- Adsit was named Reserve High-Point Rider of the Day on Sunday.

- The Intermont Equestrian IHSA Team will have its final show of the fall semester on Saturday, November 18 at home.
