Intermont Equestrian IDA Team Wins At Home Saturday

Six of nine E&H riders finished in the top three as the Wasps won at home Saturday.

BRISTOL, Va. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IDA Team picked up its first team win of the season Saturday at home. The Wasps won two of the four levels and saw one of their riders earn major recognition.

The Basics
TEAM PLACE – 1st/4 - 16 points 
LOCATION – Bristol, Virginia; Emory & Henry Equestrian Center

First Level
- Senior Eli Worth-Jones (Abingdon, Va.) won the test with a score of 72.188% while junior Eliza Ginn (Alpharetta, Ga.) was third at 71.250%.
- Freshman Jennalee Curtis (Lafayette, Calif.) took fourth on 70.625% while sophomore Katie Maharis (Howard Beach, Queens, N.Y.) was seventh (67.031%).

Upper Training Level
- Sophomore Cassandra Oliver (Charlotte, Vt.) picked up a win with a score of 77.115%.

Lower Training Level
- Sophomore Bobbie Jo Adsit (Montpelier, Va.) was second on 70.217% while senior Odessa Thacker (Yorktown, Va.) notched a third-place finish (69.783%).

Introductory Level
- Freshman Delaney Dunne (Kingsport, Tenn.) took third with a score of 71.250% while sophomore Zachary Will (Nanjemoy, Md.) was fifth (66.875%).

The Awards
- In addition to the Wasps' team champion finish, Oliver was named High-Point Rider of the Day.
- Bridgewater College was the team reserve champion with Lauren Powtak taking Reserve High-Point Rider of the Day honors.
- Virginia Tech was third while Radford University finished fourth.

Next Up
- Emory & Henry has completed its IDA schedule for the fall semester. The Wasps will be back in action following the Christmas Holiday.
