Intermont Equestrian Opens The Spring Semester With IDA & Tournament Of Champions Shows

COOLVILLE, Ohio/HARDEEVILLE, S.C./WEYERS CAVE, Va. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IDA & IHSA Teams got the spring semester off to a start with three shows over the past two weekends. The Wasps competed in the final two Tournament of Champions Series events and kicked off the spring dressage schedule at Bridgewater College.

Tournament of Champions – Winter I
- Emory & Henry opened the spring at the Tournament of Champions – Winter I show on Saturday, January 20. Stonegate Farm and Ohio University served as the hosts of the event.

Tournament of Champions – Winter II
- This past weekend, the Wasps traveled to Hardeeville, South Carolina and the Ronald C. Waranch Equestrian Center to compete in the final Tournament of Champions Series show of the year, finishing sixth on the day.
- Junior Francisco Caba-Guil (Almería, SPAIN) took second in Open Equitation Over Fences while senior Billie Henard (Kingsport, Tenn.) was second in Open on the Flat.
- Sophomore Bobbie Jo Adsit (Montpelier, Va.) was fourth in Intermediate Over Fences and took sixth on the Flat.
- In the Novice competition, sophomores Mya Lizzadro (Naperville, Ill.) and Emily Trice (Gainesville, Ga.) were fifth Over Fences and on the Flat, respectively.
- Sophomore Catherine Hill (Roanoke, Va.) competed in Walk/Trot/Canter Equitation while senior Robbi Rodemann (Evington, Va.) was fifth in Walk/Trot.
- Caba-Guil was the champion in the High Medal competition while sophomore Maddie Bonner (Powhatan, Va.) showed in Low Medals.
- Savannah College of Art & Design hosted the event and captured their fifth-straight TOC Series Championship.

Intercollegiate Dressage Association at Bridgewater
- On Sunday, Emory & Henry traveled to Bridgewater for its first IDA show of the Spring. The Wasps took third place overall.
- In First Level competition, junior Eliza Ginn (Alpharetta, Ga.) was third while senior Sydney Casady (Harriman, Tenn.) finished fifth. Sophomore Katie Maharis (Howard Beach, Queens, N.Y.) and Jennalee Curtis (Lafayette, Calif.) also showed at First Level.
- Sophomore Cassandra Oliver (Charlotte, Vt.) picked up the win for the Wasps in the Upper Training Level and was also honored as High-Point Rider of the Day.
- Senior Odessa Thacker (Yorktown, Va.) and Adsit took second and third in their Lower Training rides, respectively.
- Freshman Delaney Dunne (Kingsport, Tenn.) finished fourth in the Introductory Level.
