Intermont Equestrian IHSA Team Takes Second At Home Show Saturday

BRISTOL, Va. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IHSA Team got the spring season off to a start Saturday with a second-place finish at home. The Wasps posted four wins, five second-place finishes and four thirds in 18 rides during the show.

The Results
- Junior Francisco Caba-Guil (Almería, SPAIN) won his class in Open Equitation Over Fences while senior Sydney Casady (Harriman, Tenn.) and sophomore Madison McKinsey (Waynesboro, Va.) were third and fifth, respectively.
- Caba-Guil and senior Billie Henard (Kingsport, Tenn.) both took second in Open on the Flat.
- Sophomore Bobbie Jo Adsit (Montpelier, Va.) was fourth while senior Jane Mikusa (Crystal Lake, Ill.) finished fifth in Intermediate Fences.
- In Intermediate Flat competition, sophomore Cassandra Oliver (Charlotte, Vt.) and sophomore Kira Boerst (Seymour, Wis.) placed second and fourth, respectively.
- Sophomore Emily Trice (Gainesville, Ga.) won her class of Novice Equitation Over Fences and was third in Novice Flat.
- Freshman Sierra Walker (Maryville, Tenn.) was second in Novice Fences while sophomore Mya Lizzadro (Naperville, Ill.) finished fifth.
- The Wasps got a win in Novice on the Flat from sophomore Maddie Bonner (Powhatan, Va.) while sophomore Carley Gunnell (Purcellville, Va.) was third.
- Sophomore Virginia Jahoda (Waynesboro, Va.) won at Walk/Trot/Canter with sophomore Zachary Will (Nanjemoy, Md.) finishing third. Senior Robbi Rodemann (Evington, Va.) was second in Walk/Trot.

Next Up
- Intermont Equestrian will travel to UNC Greensboro on Saturday for an IHSA show and be back at home on Sunday for their first IDA show of the spring semester.
