Intermont Equestrian Finishes Fifth At ANRC Intercollegiate Championship

HERNDON, Va. – Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College had its first national championship show this past weekend at the American National Riding Commission Intercollegiate Championship, hosted by Frying Pan Farm Park. The Wasps finished fifth in both then National and Novice Divisions at the competition.

The Basics
NATIONAL DIVISION
– 5th/8
NOVICE DIVISION – 5th/6
LOCATION – Herndon, Virginia
VENUE – Frying Pan Farm Park

National Division - Overall
- Emory & Henry took fifth place as a team.
- Junior Francisco Caba-Guil (Almeria, SPAIN) was 13th overall while sophomore Bobbie Jo Adsit (Montpelier, Va.) was 16th and senior Jane Mikusa (Crystal Lake, Ill.) finished 22nd.

Novice Division – Overall
- E&H was fifth as a team in the Novice Division.
- Senior Odessa Thacker (Yorktown, Va.) was 13th overall while sophomore Maddie Bonner (Powhatan, Va.) took 16th.

Written Phase
- Emory & Henry was sixth in both the National and Novice Divisions.
- Mikusa was fourth individually in the National Division.

Program Ride Phase
- The Program Ride Phase saw the Wasps take eighth in the National Division.
- In Novice Division competition, E&H was third with Bonner placing second.

Derby Phase
- Emory & Henry's National team took third in the phase, with Caba-Guil finishing fifth overall.
- The Wasps' novice riders were sixth in the competition.

Medal Phase
- The National Division saw E&H finish fourth as a team with Adsit taking ninth individually.
- Emory & Henry was third in the Novice Division as Bonner was the phase champion and Thacker took 10th.

The Champions – National Division
- Savannah College of Art & Design made it back-to-back ANRC National Championships with four riders in the top 10 individually. Centenary (N.J.) University was the team Reserve Champion.
- Centenary's Michael Andrade claimed National Champion honors while Adam Edgar of SCAD was the reserve champion.

The Champions – Novice Division
- The University of Virginia earned the National Championship for the Novice Division, placing two riders in the top six while SCAD was the team Reserve Champion.
- UVA's Zoe Lewczak was the individual Champion while SCAD's Tess Mroczka was individual Reserve Champion.
