Intermont Equestrian IHSA Team Wins Season Opener At Averett Saturday

IHSA Team posts after winning at Averett.

PROVIDENCE, N.C. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IHSA Team picked up a win in its first show of the season Saturday at Averett University. The Wasps posted nine top-three finishes on the day en route to the win.

The Results
- Junior Bobbie Jo Adsit (Montpelier, Va.) posted wins in Open Equitation on the Flat and Intermediate Equitation Over Fences while senior Francisco Caba-Guil (Almería, SPAIN) finished second in Open Flat and third in Open Over Fences.
- Freshman Josie Sumner (Hampshire, Ill.) was third in Intermediate on the Flat.
- In Novice Over Fences, freshman Makalyn Williams (Granville, Ohio) and freshman Avery Dewan (Virginia Beach, Va.) each posted wins while freshman Emilie Fink (Jamesport, N.Y.) was second on the Flat.
- Freshman Becca Pagnini (Beaverdam, Va.) took fourth in Walk/Trot/Canter while freshman Devynn Osborne (Fort Blackmore, Va.) was first in Walk/Trot.

The Awards
- Emory & Henry won the day as a team while High Point University was second.
- Adsit earned High-Point Rider of the Day accolades with Western Carolina University's Ally Jones being named Reserve High-Point Rider.
