Intermont Equestrian Wins IHSA Show At Virginia Tech Saturday

BLACKSBURG, Va. - The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IHSA Team kept its perfect season rolling with a win at Virginia Tech on Saturday.

The Basics
TEAM PLACE - 1st/12
LOCATION - Blacksburg, Virginia
VENUE - Alphin-Stuart Livestock Arena

The Results
- Junior Bobbie Jo Adsit (Montpelier, Va.) won her class in Open Equitation on the Flat while senior Francisco Caba-Guil (Almería, SPAIN) took fourth. Caba-Guil also competed in Open Over Fences.
- Junior Maddie Bonner (Powhatan, Va.) took second at Intermediate on the Flat while freshman Abby McCoy (Cogan Station, Pa.) was third at Intermediate Over Fences.
- Sophomore Sierra Walker (Maryville, Tenn.) was also fifth in Intermediate Flat.
- Freshman Makalyn Williams (Granville, Ohio) took a pair of wins in Novice Fences and Novice Flat while junior Emily Trice (Gainesville, Ga.) was also first in Novice Flat.
- Senior Delaney Oursler (Hickory, N.C.) won at Walk/Trot/Canter while junior Cara Brooks (Suwanee, Ga.) was second.
- Freshman Devynn Osborne (Fort Blackmore, Va.) took first at Walk/Trot Equitation.

The Awards
- Williams was named High-Point Rider of the Day as she led the Wasps to the victory.
- Virginia Tech was the reserve champion team.

- Emory & Henry will visit High Point University next weekend for a pair of IHSA shows.
