Intermont Equestrian IHSA Team Wins At Home Saturday

BRISTOL, Va. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IHSA Team placed first or second in 13 of its 16 rides Saturday as it earned a big Zone 4 – Region 5 win at home.

The Basics
TEAM PLACE – 1st/12
LOCATION – Bristol, Virginia
VENUE – Emory & Henry Equestrian Center

The Results
- Junior Bobbie Jo Adsit (Montpelier, Va.) placed first in Open Equitation on the Flat and second in Open Equitation Over Fences. Senior Francisco Caba-Guil (Almería, SPAIN) won the Open Fences class and was second in Open Flat.
- In Intermediate Over Fences, freshmen Madelyn Lowe (Red Lion, Pa.) and Abby McCoy (Cogan Station, Pa.) took first place. Intermediate Flat saw junior Maddie Bonner (Powhatan, Va.) win while freshman Josie Sumner (Hampshire, Ill.) was second.
- Sumner took first place in Novice Over Fences as did freshman Brooke Viehman (Shorewood, Ill.). Junior Gwenyth Stromdahl (Fernandina Beach, Fla.) was second in Novice Flat while freshman Emilie Fink (Jamesport, N.Y.) also competed.
- Senior Delaney Oursler (Hickory, N.C.) won her class of Walk/Trot/Canter while junior Cara Brooks (Suwanee, Ga.) was fifth.
- In Walk/Trot Equitation, freshman Devynn Osborne (Fort Blackmore, Va.) was first  and freshman Virginia Lee (Nashville, Tenn.) took fourth.

The Awards
- Adsit claimed High-Point Rider of the Day honors while Sumner was rewarded as Reserve High-Point Rider.

Next Up
- Intermont Equestrian will travel to Otterbein University on Saturday, December 1 for the Tournament of Champions Holiday show.
