Intermont Equestrian Picks Up IHSA Win At Virginia Tech Saturday

BRISTOL, Va. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IHSA Team earned five first-place finishes on its way to a team champion performance at Virginia Tech on Saturday.

The Basics
TEAM PLACE – 1st/12
LOCATION – Blacksburg, Virginia
VENUE – Alphin-Stuart Livestock Arena

The Results
- Senior Francisco Caba-Guil (Almería, SPAIN) won at Open Equitation over Fences while junior Bobbie Jo Adsit (Montpelier, Va.) claimed a victory at Open on the Flat.
- Junior Maddie Bonner (Powhatan, Va.) took third and fourth at Intermediate on the Flat and Over Fences, respectively.
- In Novice Over Fences, junior Emily Trice (Gainesville, Ga.) finished in first place while freshman Emilie Fink (Jamesport, N.Y.) was second in Novice Flat.
- Senior Delaney Oursler (Hickory, N.C.) earned the win at Walk/Trot/Canter while freshman Cheyenne Hicks (Horsepen, Va.) was first at Walk/Trot.

The Awards
- Emory & Henry was the team champion while Wake Forest University was the team reserve champion.
- Ally Jones of Western Carolina University was tabbed as High-Point Rider of the Day.

- Intermont Equestrian will close out the IHSA regular season on Saturday, February 23 at UNC-Greensboro.
