Intermont Equestrian Riders Set To Compete In Zone 4-Region 5 Finals

Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College

BRISTOL, Va. – Members of the Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IHSA Team will see its first postseason action on Saturday as they show in the Zone 4-Region 5 Finals, hosted by Averett University. The region finals are structured as an individual-only competition.

Six different riders will represent Emory & Henry with 10 rides across seven different disciplines. Those finishing as Region Champion or Region Reserve Champion will earn a spot at the Zone 4 Finals in April. Senior Francisco Caba-Guil (Almeria, SPAIN) wp6ill compete in Open Equitation Over Fences and Open on the Flat while junior Bobbie Jo Adsit (Montpelier, Va.) is set to ride in Open on the Flat and Intermediate Over Fences.

Joining Adsit in Intermediate competition is junior Maddie Bonner (Powhatan, Va.), who will show in both Intermediate Fences and Intermediate Flat. Junior Emily Trice (Gainesville, Ga.) earned a spot in regional competition in both the Novice Fences and Novice Flat classes.

Senior Delaney Oursler (Hickory, N.C.) and junior Cara Brooks (Suwanee, Ga.) will both show in Walk/Trot/Canter Equitation.

The Zone 4 Finals will take place on Saturday, April 6, hosted by the University of Virginia. Riders and teams advancing from Zones will compete at the IHSA National Finals over the weekend of May 2-5. The New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse will serve as this year's host.
