Intermont Equestrian IHSA Team Shows At Zone 4-Region 5 Finals Saturday

PROVIDENCE, N.C. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IHSA Team saw four of its riders earn spots in the Zone 4 Finals Saturday at the Zone 4-Region 5 Finals hosted by Averett University.

The Basics
LOCATION – Providence, North Carolina
VENUE – Averett Equestrian Center

The Results
- Junior Bobbie Jo Adsit (Montpelier, Va.) won the Region Championship in Open on the Flat and took fourth in Intermediate Fences.
- Senior Francisco Caba-Guil (Almería, SPAIN) finished as the Reserve Champion in Open Equitation on the Flat and was fifth Over Fences.
- Junior Maddie Bonner (Powhatan, Va.) was the Champion at Intermediate Over Fences and took finished fourth in Intermediate on the Flat.
- Junior Emily Trice (Gainesville, Ga.) posted sixth-place finishes at Novice on the Flat and Novice Over Fences.
- Senior Delaney Oursler (Hickory, N.C.) won the region in Walk/Trot/Canter Equitation while junior Cara Brooks (Suwanee, Ga.) was third.

The Awards
- Adsit was named Region High-Point Rider of the Year for the Open classes while Caba-Guil was Reserve High-Point Rider of the Year for the region.

Advancing To Zones
- Caba-Guil, Adsit, Bonner and Oursler will represent Emory & Henry at the Zone 4 Finals.
- Adist and Caba-Guil will ride in Open on the Flat, Bonner will compete in Intermediate Fences and Ourlser will show in Walk/Trot/Canter.
- E&H will also compete in the Zone 4 Finals as a team by virtue of its regular season Z4-R5 Championship.

- Intermont Equestrian will next compete at the Zone 4 Finals on Saturday, April 6.
