Intermont Equestrian IHSA Team Earns Reserve Champion Finish At Wake Forest Sunday

IHSA Team after Oct. 6 show at Wake Forest.

PFAFFTOWN, N.C. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IHSA Team took reserve champion honors in an IHSA show at Wake Forest University. The Wasps saw their riders place in the top three in nine of their 12 rides on the day.

The Results
- Senior Bobbie Jo Adsit (Montpelier, Va.) claimed a win at Open Equitation on the Flat and was second Over Fences while sophomore Hayden Wilkes (Shamong, N.J.) was third in Open Fences.
- Sophomore Madelyn Lowe (Red Lion, Pa.) was the reserve champion in Intermediate on the Flat and sixth Over Fences while senior Kira Boerst (Seymour, Wis.) posted a third-place finish in Intermediate Fences.
- Novice Equitation Over Fences saw sophomore Brooke Viehman (Shorewood, Ill.) and junior Sarah Savona (Rockville, Md.) finish fourth and fifth, respectively.
- Senior Gwenyth Stromdahl (Fernandina Beach, Fla.) picked up a win in Novice on the Flat.
- Walk/Trot/Canter Equitation gave sophomore Becca Pagnini (Beaverdam, Va.) a win while sophomores Brinley Thomas (Farmville, Va.) and Devynn Osborne (Fort Blackmore, Va.) each snagged victories in Walk/Trot.

The Awards
- Wake Forest claimed the team championship while the Wasps' five wins were good enough for a reserve champion finish.

Next Up
- Intermont Equestrian will be back in action over the weekend of Saturday, October 19 and Sunday, October 20 as it competes in the High Point University IHSA Doubleheader.
