Intermont Equestrian IHSA Competes In High Point Doubleheader Over The Weekend

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IHSA Team showed at the annual High Point University IHSA Doubleheader on Saturday and Sunday. The Wasps tied with Wake Forest University for first place on Saturday and were edged by the Demon Deacons on Sunday.

Saturday
-  Senior Bobbie Jo Adsit (Montpelier, Va.) won her class of Open on the Flat and was fourth in Open Over Fences while sophomore Allison Inggs (Mount Edgecomb, SOUTH AFRICA) was third in Open Fences.
- In Intermediate competition, senior Emily Trice (Gainesville, Ga.) was second on the Flat and fifth Over Fences. Senior Kira Boerst (Seymour, Wis.) took second in Intermediate Fences while sophomore Madelyn Lowe (Red Lion, Pa.) was fourth on the flat.
- In Limit Over Fences, sophomore Josie Sumner (Hampshire, Ill.) was second while freshman Emily Seaver (Jonesborough, Tenn.) was fifth and senior Cara Brooks (Suwanee, Ga.) was sixth.
- Sophomore Brooke Viehman (Shorewood, Ill.) won her class of Limit on the Flat as sophomore Sofia Inchausti (Bloomsbury, N.J.) was third and freshman Whitney McKinley (Macon, Ga.) finished fifth.
- Sophomore Daniella Lima (Clemmons, N.C.) took first in Novice competition while freshman Laurel Pollock (New Castle, Va.) and senior Taylor McMichael (Lexington, Va.) both finished third.
- The Introductory class saw sophomore Brinley Thomas (Farmville, Va.) was second and freshman Delaney Love (Bristol, Va.) was third.

Sunday
- Adsit won her class of Open Fences and was second in Open on the Flat while Inggs also claimed second in Open Flat.
- Trice took first place in Intermediate Over Fences while McKinley also competed in Intermediate Fences while Sumner and senior Gwenyth Stromdahl (Fernandina Beach, Fla.) were second in Intermediate on the Flat.
- In Limit Over Fences, Brooks picked up a victory while Stromdahl and Viehman were both fifth. Limit on the Flat competition saw Inchausti earn a win while McKinley and Viehman were both second.
- Lima and McMichael won their classes of Novice while freshman Holly Orfield (Johnson City, Tenn.) was second.
- In Introductory, Thomas finished second while Love was fifth.
