Intermont Equestrian Clinches Region Championship With Win At UNC-Greensboro Saturday

RANDLEMAN, N.C. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IHSA Team clinched the 2019-20 Zone 4 – Region 5 Championship with one show left to go as it earned yet another "high-point team" win Saturday at UNC-Greensboro. The Wasps earned seven first-place finishes on the way to their victory.

The Results
- Senior Bobbie Jo Adsit (Montpelier, Va.) took first place at Open Equitation on the Flat and Over Fences.
- In Intermediate on the Flat, both senior Gwenyth Stromdahl (Fernandina Beach, Fla.) and sophomore Josie Sumner (Hampshire, Ill.) earned wins.
- Seniors Kira Boerst (Seymour, Wis.) and Emily Trice (Gainesville, Ga.) were fifth and sixth, respectively, in their classes of Intermediate Over Fences.
- Limit Over Fences competition saw senior Cara Brooks (Suwanee, Ga.) and sophomore Megan Ball (Winston-Salem, N.C.) finish first while freshman Emily Seaver (Jonesborough, Tenn.) was fifth.
- Sophomores Sofia Inchausti (Bloomsbury, N.J.) and Aura Heights (Bellport, N.Y.) were both fourth in Limit on the Flat.
- Sophomore Brinley Thomas (Farmville, Va.) was second in Novice Equitation while freshman Delaney Love (Bristol, Va.) won her class of Introductory competition.

The Awards
- E&H was the team champion of the day while UNC-G claimed reserve-champions honors.
- Adsit was named High-Point Rider of the Day for the third-straight show.
