Intermont Equestrian IHSA Team Competes At Zone 4-Region 5 Finals Sunday

Intermont Equestrian IHSA Team following Sunday's Z4-R5 Finals.

BRISTOL, Va. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IHSA Team saw six of its riders earn spots in the Zone 4 Finals Sunday at the Zone 4-Region 5 Finals. The show was held at the Emory & Henry College Equestrian Center.

The Basics
LOCATION – Bristol, Virginia
VENUE – Emory & Henry College Equestrian Center

The Results
- Senior Bobbie Jo Adsit (Montpelier, Va.) was the reserve champion in Open Over Fences and took fifth in Open on the Flat.
- In Intermediate Over Fences, senior Kira Boerst (Seymour, Wis.) and sophomore Abby McCoy (Cogan Station, Pa.) took the first two places.
- Senior Gwenyth Stromdahl (Fernandina Beach, Fla.) won at Limit on the Flat while sophomore Josie Sumner (Hampshire, Ill.) was the champion at Limit Over Fences.
- Sophomore Becca Pagnini (Beaverdam, Va.) was third in Novice.
- Sophomore Brinley Thomas (Farmville, Va.) claimed champion honors with her Introductory ride.

Advancing To Zones
- Adsit will compete at the Zone 4 Championship as one of Z4-R5's representatives for the Cacchione Cup. She will also ride in Open Over Fences.
- Both Boerst and McCoy will represent the Wasps in Intermediate Fences.
- Limit competition sees Sumner advance Over Fences while Stromdahl will ride on the Flat.
- Thomas rounds out the field for the Wasps in the Introductory Division.
- E&H will also compete in the Zone 4 Finals as a team by virtue of its regular season Z4-R5 Championship.

Next Up
- Intermont Equestrian will next compete at the Zone 4 Finals on Saturday, April 6. St. Andrews University will serve as the host.
