Intermont Equestrian IDA Team Continues Strong Performance In Digital Dressage Spring II Show

BRISTOL, Va. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IDA Team continued its spring with at the IDA Digital Dressage Spring II show. This show, like the ones during the fall semester, was powered by DigitalHorseShow.com. The Wasps had nine student-riders competing across two different levels while a Virginia Intermont alumna showed in the alumni division.

Created because of the COVID-19 pandemic, DigitalHorseShow.com was founded to provide sanctioned online showing opportunities for the United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA). The Intercollegiate Dressage Association (IDA) and Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) have also partnered with DigitalHorseShow.com in order to provide college riders with a chance to compete without having to travel.

First Level
- Freshman Lindsay Shaw (Newark, Del.) was the reserve champion on a ride of 68.71% while sophomore Emily Esposito (Virginia Beach, Va.) claimed third with a score of 68.29%.

Lower Training Level
- Junior Megan Ball (Winston-Salem, N.C.) posted a reserve-champion finish with a 68.08+%, edging teammate sophomore Emily Seaver (Jonesborough, Tenn.) in a tiebreaker.
- Junior Sofia Inchausti (Bloomsbury, N.J.) finished fifth (66.92%) followed by senior Sarah Savona (Rockville, Md.) in seventh (66.54%).
- Senior Lauren Capobianco (Floral Park, N.Y.) took 12th in the test.

Introductory Level
- Freshman Rachel Turner (Elizabethton, Tenn.) picked up the win in her first collegiate show, scoring a 66.88% while sophomore Kinsey Shankles (Mascot, Tenn.) was eighth with a ride of 61.25%.

Alumni Class 2
- Elizabeth Baker (Virginia Intermont '13) was the champion of her class, scoring a 68.620%.

Series Update
- Shaw leads the First Level with 24 points while Esposito is third (21 pts.).
- Ichausti and Ball are atop the Lower Training Level with 19 and 18 points, respectively, while Savona is fourth (17 pts.) and Seaver is tied for fifth (13 pts.).
- Turner is fifth in the Introductory level with 13 points.
- Baker leads Alumni Class 2 with 24 points while Eliza Ginn ('19) is third in Alumni Class 1.

- Emory & Henry will now await the results of the recently completed Digital Dressage Spring III Show and the IDA Grand Finale Awards Presentation.
