Intermont Equestrian IDA Team Completes Spring 2021 Season

BRISTOL, Va. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IDA Team has learned the results of the IDA Digital Dressage Spring III Show and the overall spring series results. All three shows during the spring 2021 semester were powered by DigitalHorseShow.com. The results were streamed live on the Internet on Sunday evening.

Created because of the COVID-19 pandemic, DigitalHorseShow.com was founded to provide sanctioned online showing opportunities for the United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA). The Intercollegiate Dressage Association (IDA) and Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) have also partnered with DigitalHorseShow.com in order to provide college riders with a chance to compete without having to travel.

Digital Dressage Spring III Show Results

First Level
- Sophomore Emily Esposito (Virginia Beach, Va.) won the level with a score of 66.29% while freshman Lindsay Shaw (Newark, Del.) grabbed her second-straight reserve champion finish (65.43%).

Lower Training Level
- Junior Sofia Inchausti (Bloomsbury, N.J.) took reserve champion honors on a ride of 65.96% as junior Makalyn Williams (Granville, Ohio) and sophomore Emily Seaver (Jonesborough, Tenn.) were third (65.77%) and fourth (65.58%) respectively.
- Senior Sarah Savona (Rockville, Md.) took 11th in the test while junior Megan Ball (Winston-Salem, N.C.) finished 12th.

Introductory Level
- Freshman Rachel Turner (Elizabethton, Tenn.) was the reserve champion at 65.63% as sophomore Kinsey Shankles (Mascot, Tenn.) placed 11th.

Alumni Class 2
- Elizabeth Baker (Virginia Intermont '13) finished second in her class, scoring a 65.48%.

Digital Dressage Spring Series Results

First Level
- Shaw was the series reserve champion while Esposito finished third.

Lower Training Level
- Inchausti earned reserve champion honors while Seaver was fourth.
- Williams, Savona and Ball placed sixth, seventh and eighth, respectively.

Introductory Level
- Turner was named the series champion with Shankles finishing 11th.

Alumni Class 2
- Baker grabbed the series championship for her class.

USDF/IDA Quiz Challenge

The IDA continued its tradition of the Quiz Challenge in which student-riders go up against one another in a written test. This year's grand champion was Emory & Henry's Emily Esposito as she won the First Level. Lindsay Shaw was third in the First Level.
