Lucas Kirby Named Academic All-District By CoSIDA

AUSTIN, Texas – Emory & Henry College senior wide receiver Lucas Kirby has been named to the 2014 NCAA Division III Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-District V Team, CoSIDA officials announced Thursday. CoSIDA is the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Kirby, a native of Covington, Virginia and a graduate of Alleghany High School, currently leads the Wasps with five touchdown receptions. He is second on the team with 44 caches on the year for 473 yards, averaging 10.8 yards per catch. Kirby has 123 career catches for 1448 yards and a total of 15 touchdowns. An accounting and economics double major, Kirby is a 3.79 student.

By virtue of being named to the Academic All-District team, Kirby is now eligible for Academic All-America® honors.

CoSIDA's Academic All-America® program has recognized student-athletes for their accomplishments on the field and in the classroom for over 50 years. CoSIDA members nominate and vote in selection of Academic All-District and All-America performers in 12 sport categories across all divisions of college athletics.
