Emory & Henry Wins ODAC Play Of The Week Award

Emory & Henry Wins ODAC Play Of The Week Award

FOREST, Va. - The penultimate week of the season brought us a big play from each school, and for the second time it was Emory & Henry College that came out on top. The Wasps previously won in week two following a big win over Maryville College.

Early in the second quarter, Emory & Henry intercepted one of six passes on the day on a broken play. Senior safety Roth Healey (Easton, Pa.) stepped in front to pick off the pass. He returned it 39 yards to the one-foot line. E&H punched it in two plays later for a 28-0 lead. Healey intercepted three passes on the day and recovered a fumble. The Wasps held on for a 42-34 victory to stay in the ODAC title hunt.

Healey, who was named ODAC Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts, currently leads the league in total takeaways with 10 and is tied for the conference lead in interceptions (six).

The eight plays in this week's contest garnered nearly 500 votes from ODAC and NCAA Division III football fans. Healey's interception earned 37.53-percent of the vote. The eight plays were watched more than 900 times on the ODAC website and YouTube channel.
