The Bristol, Tennessee native and Tennessee High School graduate burst on the scene Saturday with three interceptions, five tackles and an additional three passes defended as Emory & Henry defeated Shenandoah University, 41-31. It marks the first time that a Wasp has picked off three passes since Roth Healey accomplished the feat in 2014 against the same Shenandoah squad.

For his efforts, Gibson was selected as the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Football Defensive Player of the Week. It marks the fourth E&H player this year and third on the defensive side of the ball to earn ODAC Player of the Week accolades.

With three selections to the D3football.com Team of the Week, E&H ties a program-best for the publication. The Wasps previously saw three players honored in the 2004 and 2008 seasons. Since the inception of the D3football.com Team of the Week award in the 1999 season, Emory & Henry players have been listed among the nation's top performers on 21 occasions.

Emory & Henry (5-2, 4-1 ODAC) will host league-leading and No. 25-nationally ranked Bridgewater College on Saturday in an ODAC contest. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
