Swegheimer adds All-America honors to an already long list of accolades from the spring 2021 season. He was named the Lou Wacker ODAC Defensive Player of the Year and an All-ODAC First-Teamer. Additionally, Swegheimer was tabbed by the Virginia Sports Information Directors as the State Defensive Player of the Year and to the All-State First Team.

This marks the third honor Swegheimer has received from D3football.com. Twice during the season, he was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week for his performances at Ferrum (Feb. 26) and against Guilford (Mar. 12).

Swegheimer is one of five players from the Old Dominion Athletic Conference to be recognized as All-America. Bridgewater College's Brett Tharp is the league's lone first-team pick. Randolph-Macon College's Will Jackson and Chris Vidal as well as Ed Newman from Hampden-Sydney College join Swegheimer on the third team.

Swegheimer is Emory & Henry's first D3football.com All-American since then-junior Caleb Jennings was tabbed to the second team following the 2009 season. Linebacker Devan Sproles was an honorable mention selection from the publication in 2011.
