EMORY, Va. – With Emory & Henry College set to officially join the South Atlantic Conference on July 1, 2022, Head Football Coach Curt Newsome is pleased to release the schedule for the 2022 season. For the first time since 1985, the Wasps will play an 11-game regular season. While E&H is not eligible to win the SAC Championship or compete in the NCAA Division II Playoffs, players will be eligible for weekly and season-long awards from the league.
Last fall, Emory & Henry posted a 6-4 overall record in its final season competing against former Old Dominion Athletic Conference rivals. The Wasps ended the year by permanently capturing the Crooked Road Classic trophy with a 41-23 win over Ferrum College.

E&H kicks off its first-ever NCAA Division II schedule by hosting West Virginia-border rival Concord University on Saturday, September 3. It will be the first meeting between the Wasps and Mountain Lions since 1981. Emory & Henry plays its second of two non-conference contests on Saturday, September 10 at Bluefield University.
The Wasps host Newberry College in their first-ever league game as a South Atlantic Conference member on Saturday, September 17. On Saturday, September 24, E&H is set to visit the Bulldogs of Wingate University.
Back-to-back home games get the month of October started, beginning with a Homecoming date against Catawba College on Saturday, October 1. It will be the first meeting between the Wasps and Catawba Indians since the 1977 season.
Emory & Henry welcomes the University of Virginia's College at Wise on Saturday, October 8 for the fifth meeting of the Southwest Virginia rivals and the first since 2011.
E&H visits Mars Hill University on Saturday, October 15. Next up for the Wasps is the revival of a pair of rivalries from the Smoky Mountain Athletic Conference era. Emory & Henry visits Greeneville, Tennessee for a matchup against Tusculum University for the first tussle with the Pioneers since 1950.
Senior Day comes against Carson-Newman University on Saturday, October 29. The Wasps and Eagles tangled 38 times between 1927 and 1975, making the series with C-N the most-played of E&H's opponents going forward.
Emory & Henry closes out the season with games at Erskine College (Saturday, November 5) and Limestone University (Saturday, November 12).
