The Wasps finished 2024 with a record of 9-2 on the season while posting a 6-0 record at Fred Selfe Stadium, the program's best record since 1998.

Woodson joins the Wasps’ staff after gaining multiple years of coaching experience at both the NCAA Division I and Division II level. He got his start in coaching as a defensive graduate assistant and video coordinator at Big South member Gardner-Webb University from 2020-2022. There he helped organize practices, breakdown scouting reports and was responsible for all aspects of film. Also assisted in the development of Big South All-Conference First Team and Hero Sports FCS All-American defensive end Ty French.

Prior to joining the Wasps Woodson was the defensive line coach and equipment coordinator at Concord University in the Mountain East Conference during the 2022 season. There he was responsible for the development of the defensive line as well as helping coordinate the game plan and schemes. Woodson’s lone season with the Mountain Lions saw them improve to a record of 9-2 and a second-place finish in the league. Dajor Davenport was selected to the All-MEC First Team.

Woodson was a four-year letterman and was named captain during his senior season at fellow South Atlantic Conference member Tusculum University. He played in 36 games over his career for the Pioneers, accumulating 73 tackles, 3.5 sacks and 7.5 tackles for loss. Woodson received a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Science from TU in the winter of 2019.
