Second Half Propels Guilford Men’s Basketball Over Emory & Henry, 69-55, Wednesday

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Guilford College Men's Basketball Team (12-5, 6-2 ODAC) scored 43 points in the second half en route to a 69-55 win over Emory & Henry College (8-8, 2-6 ODAC) Wednesday evening at Ragan-Brown Field House.

The Quakers got out to a 14-0 lead 3:50 into the first half but the Wasps battled back to tie the contest at 18 at the 8:43 mark. Emory & Henry would take a 27-26 lead into the break.

In the second half, Guilford stormed out to a 51-35 lead with a 25-8 run that covered 10:32. The Quakers would lead by as much as 20 points on two separate occasions in the final stanza before E&H cut the lead to a 14-point margin for the final 69-55 score.

Guilford was led by Gabriel Lowder with a game-high 20 points and nine rebounds. Josh Pittman and Carson Sullivan tallied 15 and 10 points in the contest, respectively.

Freshman guard Damian Edwards (Boone, N.C.) paced the Wasps with 12 points and added four rebounds. Freshman guard Tyler Driver (Alexandria, Va.) had nine points and six rebounds while sophomore forward Charles Smith (Fayetteville, N.C.) registered seven points and seven rebounds.

Emory & Henry will return home on Saturday to host Lynchburg College at 2:00 p.m.
