Malcolm Green Named ODAC Men’s Basketball Player Of The Week

FOREST, Va. - Emory & Henry College's Malcolm Green has been selected as the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, ODAC officials announced Monday afternoon. It is the first time this season that an E&H player has received this honor.

The junior from Marshville, N.C., led the Wasps to a 2-0 week, with home victories over Roanoke College (Wednesday) and Eastern Mennonite University (Saturday).

Wednesday night in the Wasps' 88-81 win over the Maroons, Green dropped a career-high 31 points, going 10-for-12 from the field and hitting 9-of-11 attempts from the free throw line. He added four rebounds and two assists in the contest.

Green put the Wasps on his back once again on Saturday afternoon, as E&H came away with an overtime victory over EMU. Down by one with 9.7 seconds remaining, Green drove to the basket and hit a reverse layup to put Emory & Henry up 81-80. He finished the contest with 17 points and seven boards.

Emory & Henry will remain at home on Wednesday when the Eagles of Bridgewater College visit the John Rutledge King Center and Bob Johnson Court at 7:00 p.m. The contest will be the final regular season home game for the Wasps and holds strong implications in seeding for the 2012 ODAC Tournament.
